I was thinking about Paris today and the lovely visit my husband and I had to the City of Light last September.  One of the most memorable moments for me was our stop at the Musée de l’Orangerie, which houses eight of Claude Monet’s Waterlilies murals.  As a garden lover, I’ve always appreciated how Monet was able to capture the feeling of growth and flickering light in his painting.  I didn’t expect the murals to be so gorgeously large; the eight paintings fill two long oval rooms.  Bathed in gentle natural light, the murals reflect the soft watery tones of Monet’s gardens at Giverny, alive with purples and blues, natural greens and grays.  The beautiful dreamy quality of the landscapes would translate so well to a garden wedding theme, don’t you think?
