Vicki and Dan of Starfish Studios contacted me after finding possibly the most unique new venue in South Florida.  Estacia Culinaria is a family owned and operated avocado farm turned event space and as soon as you take your first breath of fresh country air, you feel as if you have been transported a million miles from Miami.  The setting is rustic but the structures on site offer a sense of warmth and elegance; a combination that was perfectly suited to a wedding.  I took my inspiration for the styling from the avocado grove, using both pale and deep green as well as cream and dusty black with plenty of lace and velvet to bring a classic beauty to the look.  Avocados (along with other farm stand staples) appeared throughout the design, providing a counterpoint to the softness of the fabrics and the flowers.  (You can see the inspiration board here.)  Although we brought in many fabulous vintage pieces, courtesy of Angela with Amazing Grace rentals, the idea was to create something timelessly beautiful while staying true to the spirit of the place.  We had an amazing team of vendors, all of whom were inspired by the refreshing natural charm of the site.  Ines Naftali did an extraordinary job interpreting the floral look, mixing creamy blooms with soft greenery and vegetables such as purple artichoke and fancy cabbage.  The dessert bar, accented with fruits in varying shades of green, was graced by three simply lovely cakes by Sandy from Sugar Fancies.  And the gorgeous bride and groom were styled to perfection by Sasha of Sasha’s Bridal Boutique, Tara Rose of Ring Finger Studio and Christie of Christie Lopez Makeup.  As the sun went down and the grove lit up with twinkling lights strung through the branches, echoing the stars in the sky, it truly felt that we had found a lovely new gem for the Miami bride.
