cinderella had a pumpkin and so should you

Happy Halloween Eve!  Even though the temperatures in South Florida are still hovering in the 80′s, I’m trying to convince myself that it’s actually fall in most of the country.  With Halloween upon us and Thanksgiving right around the corner, I thought a little pumpkin-themed wedding inspiration might be in order.  Normally I find traditionally fall-themed weddings to be a touch cheesy (no orange and black centerpieces, please!) but I’ve rounded up some great ideas that show that pumpkins can be glamorous, sophisticated and totally fun.  Enjoy!  And check out my complete Pintrest round-up here.

ombre glitter.

All of those gorgeous pumpkin pics inspired me to get a little crafty.  Glitter pumpkins certainly aren’t a new idea, but they sure are pretty and super easy to make too.  These pearl, champagne and espresso beauties took less than two hours and should last me through Thanksgiving.  See below for a simple how-to and a few tips from my experience.

all you need is some standard white glue, extra-fine glitter and a variety of pumpkins.

coat the pumpkin with a thin layer of glue (use a foam brush), let it get tacky, shake on the glitter.

tip: choose a pumpkin with a stem, it really helps to have a handle. if you decide to glitter the stem as well, wait until the glue on the pumpkin is completely dry.

voila! glitter pumpkin vignette.

pearl glitter on white and tiger-stripe pumpkins, champagne glitter on white pumpkins and espresso on an orange pie-type variety

Stay sweet (a big bucket of Halloween candy should help!),

Miranda
